Privacy Policy
How JF Direct Sourcing collects, uses and protects the information you share with us.
Who this applies to
JF Direct Sourcing operates a business-to-business sourcing catalogue. This policy covers the information we handle when you browse the catalogue, apply for a trade account, send an inquiry, or request a consultation.
Information we collect
When you apply for a trade account we collect the details you enter on the registration form:
- Contact details — first and last name, email address, phone and mobile number.
- Business details — company name, VAT number, website and social media profile.
- Address — street, house number, additional address line, postal code, city, state/province and country.
- Account credentials — your password, which is handled by our accounts provider and never stored by us in readable form.
Information you send us
When you submit an inquiry or a consultation request we receive the items or project details you entered, together with the name, company and email address on the form. Requests are also associated with the IP address of the submitting device, which we retain as a basic anti-abuse measure.
How we use it
- To review and approve trade account applications, and to verify your business is eligible for wholesale terms.
- To make wholesale pricing visible to approved accounts.
- To respond to inquiries and consultation requests with pricing, availability, lead times and logistics.
- To send transactional email — email verification, inquiry confirmations and quotations.
- To operate, secure and improve the catalogue.
Service providers
We share information only with the providers needed to run this service:
- Shopify — hosts our customer accounts, product catalogue and order records.
- Resend — delivers transactional email on our behalf.
Cookies and local storage
We set a single essential session cookie when you sign in, so the site can recognise your account between page loads. It is HTTP-only and expires after 30 days or when you sign out.
Your browser also stores display preferences locally — your colour theme, your catalogue grid density, and the contents of your inquiry list. These stay on your device and are not transmitted to us as tracking data.
Retention
Trade account details are retained for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as required to meet our legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations. Inquiry and consultation correspondence is retained for the commercial life of the enquiry.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, request deletion, or object to or restrict certain processing. You can also ask for a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on our contact page.
You may update most of your business and contact details yourself at any time from your account page.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about the data we hold, can be sent to our team via the contact page and will be answered within two working days.
